Matthew 8: 5When Jesus was going into the town ofCapernaum, an army officer came up to him and said, 6"LORD,my servant is at home in such terrible pain that he can't even move." 7"Iwill go and heal him," Jesus replied. 8But the officer said,"LORD, I'm not good enough for you to come into my house. Just give theorder, and my servant will get well. 9I have officers who giveorders to me, and I have soldiers who take orders from me. I can say toone of them, 'Go!' and he goes. I can say to another, 'Come!' and he comes.I can say to my servant, 'Do this!' and he will do it." 10WhenJesus heard this, he was so surprised that he turned and said to the crowdfollowing him, "I tell you that in all of Israel I've never found anyonewith this much faith! 11 Many people will come from everywhereto enjoy the feast in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.12Butthe ones who should have been in the kingdom will be thrown out into thedark. They will cry and grit their teeth in pain." (CEV)
Matthew 15: 22Suddenly a Canaanite woman from therecame out shouting, "LORD and Son of David, have pity on me! My daughteris full of demons." 23Jesus did not say a word. But the womankept following along and shouting, so his disciples came up and asked himto send her away. 24Jesus said, "I was sent only to the peopleof Israel! They are like a flock of lost sheep." 25The womancame closer. Then she knelt down and begged, "Please help me, LORD!" 26Jesusreplied, "It isn't right to take food away from children and feed it todogs."e 27"LORD, that's true," the woman said, "but even dogsget the crumbs that fall from their owner's table." 28Jesusanswered, "Dear woman, you really do have a lot of faith, and you willbe given what you want." At that moment her daughter was healed. (CEV))
Mark 9: 38John said, "Teacher, we saw a man usingyour name to force demons out of people. But he wasn't one of us, and wetold him to stop." 39Jesus said to his disciples: Don't stophim! No one who works miracles in my name will soon turn and say somethingbad about me. 40Anyone who isn't against us is for us. 41Andanyone who gives you a cup of water in my name, just because you belongto me, will surely be rewarded.
