Ice-breaker: Tell us about a friend who opened your mind tothings you had never thought of before.

Isaiah 40: 21Don't you know? Haven't you heard? Isn't it clear that God created the world? (CEV)

Isaiah 42: 5I am the LORD God. I created the heavens like an open tent above. I made the earth and everything that grows onit. I am the source of life for all who live on this earth, so listen towhat I say. (CEV)

Deuteronomy 30: 19Right now I call the sky and theearth to be witnesses that I am offering you this choice. Will you choosefor the LORD to make you prosperous and give you a long life? Or will heput you under a curse and kill you? Choose life! 20Be completelyfaithful to the LORD your God, love him, and do whatever he tells you. (CEV)

2 Corinthians 4: 16We never give up. Our bodies aregradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day.17These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will makeall our troubles seem like nothing.18Things that are seen don'tlast forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That's why we keepour minds on the things that cannot be seen. (CEV)

Matthew 10: 26Don't be afraid of anyone! Everythingthat is hidden will be found out, and every secret will be known.27 WhateverI say to you in the dark, you must tell in the light. And you must announcefrom the housetops whatever I have whispered to you. 28 Don'tbe afraid of people. They can kill you, but they cannot harm your soul. Instead, you should fear God who can destroy both your body and your soul in hell. 29Aren't two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your Father knows when any one of them falls to the ground. 30Eventhe hairs on your head are counted. 31So don't be afraid! Youare worth much more than many sparrows. (CEV)

Luke 16: 23... When he looked up and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side, 24he said to Abraham, "Have pityon me! Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and touch my tongue. I'msuffering terribly in this fire." 25Abraham answered, "My friend, remember that while you lived, you had everything good, and Lazarus hadeverything bad. Now he is happy, and you are in pain. 26Andbesides, there is a deep ditch between us, and no one from either sidecan cross over."
27But the rich man said, "Abraham, thenplease send Lazarus to my father's home. 28Let him warn my fivebrothers, so they won't come to this horrible place." 29Abrahamanswered, "Your brothers can read what Moses and the prophets wrote. Theyshould pay attention to that."
30Then the rich man said, "No, that'snot enough! If only someone from the dead would go to them, they wouldlisten and turn to God."31So Abraham said, "If they won't payattention to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even to someonewho comes back from the dead." (CEV)
