Deuteronomy 30: ¹⁹Right now I call the sky and theearth to be witnesses that I am offering you this choice. Will you choosefor the LORD to make you prosperous and give you a long life? Or will heput you under a curse and kill you? Choose life! ²⁰Be completelyfaithful to the LORD your God, love him, and do whatever he tells you. (CEV)

2 Corinthians 4: ¹⁶We never give up. Our bodies aregradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day.¹⁷These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will makeall our troubles seem like nothing.¹⁸Things that are seen don'tlast forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. Matthew 10: ²⁶Don't be afraid of anyone! Everythingthat is hidden will be found out, and every secret will be known.²⁷ WhateverI say to you in the dark, you must tell in the light. And you must announcefrom the housetops whatever I have whispered to you. ²⁸ Don'tbe afraid of people. They can kill you, but they cannot harm your soul. Instead, you should fear God who can destroy both your body and your soul in hell. ²⁹Aren't two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your Father knows when any one of them falls to the ground. ³⁰Eventhe hairs on your head are counted. ³¹So don't be afraid! Youare worth much more than many sparrows. (CEV)

Luke 16: ²³... When he looked up and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side, ²⁴he said to Abraham, "Have pityon me! Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and touch my tongue. I'msuffering terribly in this fire." ²⁵Abraham answered, "My friend,remember that while you lived, you had everything good, and Lazarus hadeverything bad. Now he is happy, and you are in pain. ²⁶Andbesides, there is a deep ditch between us, and no one from either sidecan cross over."
    ²⁷But the rich man said, "Abraham, thenplease send Lazarus to my father's home. ²⁸Let him warn my fivebrothers, so they won't come to this horrible place." ²⁹Abrahamanswered, "Your brothers can read what Moses and the prophets wrote. Theyshould pay attention to that."
    ³⁰Then the rich man said, "No, that'snot enough! If only someone from the dead would go to them, they wouldlisten and turn to God."³¹So Abraham said, "If they won't payattention to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even to someonewho comes back from the dead." (CEV)
