Matthew 5: ¹⁶Make your light shine, so that otherswill see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.....
    ⁴⁵Then you will be acting like your Fatherin heaven. He makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sendsrain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong.....

Luke 10: ²¹.. My Father, LORD of heaven and earth,I am grateful that you hid all this from wise and educated people and showed it to ordinary people. Yes, Father, that is what pleased you.
    ²²My Father has given me everything,and he is the only one who knows the Son. The only one who really knowsthe Father is the Son. But the Son wants to tell others about the Father,so that they can know him too. (CEV)

Luke 11: ¹³As bad as you are, you still know how togive good gifts to your children. But your heavenly Father is even moreready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks. (CEV)

Luke 12: ³²My little group of disciples, don't beafraid! Your Father wants to give you the kingdom. (CEV)

Romans 8: ¹⁵God's Spirit doesn't make us slaves whoare afraid of him. Instead, we become his children and call him our Father. ¹⁶God'sSpirit makes us sure that we are his children. ¹⁷ His Spiritlets us know that together with Christ we will be given what God has promised.We will also share in the glory of Christ, because we have suffered withhim....
    ²³The Spirit makes us sure about whatwe will be in the future. But now we groan silently, while we wait forGod to show that we are his children. This means that our bodies will alsobe set free....
    ²⁹... he has always known who his chosenones would be. He had decided to let them become like his own Son, so thathis Son would be the first of many children. 30God then accepted the peoplehe had already decided to choose, and he has shared his glory with them. (CEV)

Hebrews 2: ^1JJesus and the people he makes holy allbelong to the same family. That is why he isn't ashamed to call them hisbrothers and sisters. ²He even said to God, "I will tell themyour name and sing your praises when they come together to worship." ³He also said, "I will trust God." Then he said, "Here I am with the children God has given me." (CEV)

3. Why did God call Himself Father and make Jesus His Son? Why doesHe call us His children and family?
