1 Timothy 1: ¹³I used to say terrible and insultingthings about him, and I was cruel. Romans 1: ¹¹I want to see you and share with you the same blessings that God's Spirit has given me. Then you will grow stronger in your faith.... ¹⁶I am proud of the good news! It is God'spowerful way of saving all people who have faith, whether they are Jewsor Gentiles. ¹⁷The good news tells how God accepts everyonewho has faith, but only those who have.
    ²⁰God's eternal power and character cannotbe seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these arelike by all he has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse. ²¹Theyknow about God, but they don't honor him or even thank him. Their thoughtsare useless, and their stupid minds are in the dark....
    ²⁸Since these people refused even tothink about God, he let their useless minds rule over them. That's whythey do all sorts of indecent things. (CEV)

Romans 2: ²...When you judge others, you condemn yourselves, because you are guilty of doing the very same things. ..³Doyou really think God won't punish you, when you behave exactly like thepeople you accuse? ⁴You surely don't think much of God's wonderfulgoodness or of his patience and willingness to put up with you. Don't youknow that the reason God is good to you is because he wants you to turnto him? ....... ⁹All who are wicked will be punished withtrouble and suffering... ¹⁰But all who do right will be rewardedwith glory, honor, and peace, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. ¹¹Goddoesn't have any favorites! .....
    ¹⁴Some people naturally obey the Law'scommands, even though they don't have the Law. ¹⁵This provesthat the conscience is like a law written in the human heart. And it willshow whether we are forgiven or condemned, ¹⁶when God has JesusChrist judge everyone's secret thoughts, just as my message says. (CEV)

Romans 9: ³⁰What does all of this mean? It means that the Gentiles were not trying to be acceptable to God, but they foundthat he would accept them if they had faith. ^31-32It alsomeans that the people of Israel were not acceptable to God. And why not?It was because they were trying to be acceptable by obeying the Law insteadof by having faith in God. (CEV)

Romans 11: ³²All people have disobeyed God, and that's why he treats them as prisoners. But he does this, so that he can have mercy on all of them. (CEV)

1. What does God do to make sure that He is completely fair to everyone that He has created?
2. How did Jesus deal with the things of His "Good News" that werehard to understand, to Jews & non-Jews?
3. Why does God base everything on our faith in Him, in Jesus, andon what Jesus did and taught?
4. When we talk to each other about ways to please God, how does thatenable Him to build up our faith?
