Matthew 11: 25At that moment Jesus said: My Father,LORD of heaven and earth, I am grateful that you hid all this from wiseand educated people and showed it to ordinary people. .... 28If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. 29Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. 30 Thisyoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light. (CEV)

Matthew 13: 10Jesus' disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you use nothing but stories when you speak to the people?"11 Jesusanswered: I have explained the secrets about the kingdom of heaven to you,but not to others. 12Everyone who has something will be givenmore. But people who don't have anything will lose even what little they have. 13I use stories when I speak to them because whenthey look, they cannot see, and when they listen, they cannot hear or understand....
19The seeds that fell along the roadare the people who hear the message about the kingdom, but don't understandit. Then the evil one comes and snatches the message from their hearts.20 Theseeds that fell on rocky ground are the people who gladly hear the message and accept it right away. 21But they don't have deep roots, and they don't last very long. As soon as life gets hard or the message gets them in trouble, they give up.
22The seeds that fell among the thornbushes are also people who hear the message. But they start worrying about theneeds of this life and are fooled by the desire to get rich. So the messagegets choked out, and they never produce anything. 23The seedsthat fell on good ground are the people who hear and understand themessage. They produce as much as a hundred or sixty or thirty times whatwas planted.
