John 2: 24But Jesus knew what was in their hearts, and he would not let them have power over him. 25No one hadto tell him what people were like. He already knew. (CEV)
Matthew 16: 23Jesus turned to Peter and said, "Satan, get away from me! You're in my way because you think like everyone elseand not like God." (CEV)
Luke 16: 15But Jesus told them: You are always making yourselves look good, but God sees what is in your heart. The things that most people think are important are worthless as far as God is concerned. (CEV)
1 John 2: 24Keep thinking about the message you first heard, and you will always be one in your heart with the Son and with the Father... 26I am writing to warn you about those people whoare misleading you. 27But Christ has blessed you with the HolySpirit. Now the Spirit stays in you, and you don't need any teachers. TheSpirit is truthful and teaches you everything. So stay one in your heartwith Christ, just as the Spirit has taught you to do. (CEV)
Colossians 2: 7Plant your roots in Christ and lethim be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as youwere taught. And be grateful. 8Don't let anyone fool you byusing senseless arguments. These arguments may sound wise, but they areonly human teachings. They come from the powers of this world and not fromChrist. (CEV)
1 Corinthians 1: 19As God says in the Scriptures,"I
will destroy the wisdom of all who claim to be wise. I will confusethose
who think they know so much." 20What happened to thosewise people?
What happened to those experts in the Scriptures? What happenedto the ones
who think they have all the answers? Didn't God show that thewisdom of
this world is foolish? 21God was wise and decidednot to let
the people of this world use their wisdom to learn about him.....
26My dear friends, remember what youwere
when God chose you. The people of this world didn't think that manyof you
were wise....27But God chose the foolish things of thisworld
to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this worldto put
the powerful to shame. 28What the world thinks is worthless, useless,
and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the worldconsiders
important. (Isaiah 29: 14...I will destroythe wisdom
of those who claim to know and understand." Isaiah 44:25Imake
liars of false prophets and fools of fortunetellers. I take humanwisdom
and turn it into nonsense.) (CEV)
1 Corinthians 2: 4When I talked with you or preached, I didn't try to prove anything by sounding wise. I simply let God's Spirit show his power. 5That way you would have faith because of God's power and not because of human wisdom. 6We do use wisdom whenspeaking to people who are mature in their faith. But it isn't the wisdomof this world or of its rulers, who will soon disappear. 7Wespeak of God's hidden and mysterious wisdom that God decided to use forour glory long before the world began.........16..But we understandwhat Christ is thinking. (CEV)
Hebrews 12: 2We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete...... 3So keep your mind onJesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won't get discouraged and give up. (CEV)
