Isaiah 26: 4So always trust the LORD becausehe is forever our mighty rock..... 8You are the one we trustto bring about justice; above all else we want your name to be honored.9 Throughoutthe night, my heart searches for you, because your decisions show everyoneonthis earth how to live right. (CEV)
Isaiah 40: 28Don't you know? Haven't you heard? TheLORD is the eternal God, Creator of the earth. He never gets wearyor tired; his wisdom cannot be measured. 29The LORD gives strengthto those who are weary. 30Even young people get tired, thenstumble and fall. 31But those who trust the LORD willfind new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings;they will walk and run without getting tired. (CEV)
John 7: 16Jesus replied: I am not teaching something that I thought up. What I teach comes from the one who sent me. 17 Ifyou really want to obey God, you will know if what I teach comes from God or from me. 18If I wanted to bring honor to myself, I would speak for myself. But I want to honor the one who sent me. That is whyI tell the truth and not a lie..... 24Don't judge by appearances.Judge by what is right. (CEV)
Romans 10: 17No one can have faith without hearingthe message about Christ. 18But am I saying that the peopleof Israel did not hear? No, I am not! The Scriptures say, "The messagewas told everywhere on earth. It was announced all over the world."Paulwas referring to Psalms 19: 1The heavens keeptelling the wonders of God, and the skies declare what he has done.2Eachday informs the following day; each night announces to the next. 3Theydon't speak a word, and there is never the sound of a voice. 4Yet theirmessage reaches all the earth, and it travels around the world. (CEV)
Romans 1: 19They know everything that can be knownabout God, because God has shown it all to them. 20God's eternalpower and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation,Godhas shown what these are like by all he has made. That's why thosepeople don't have any excuse. (CEV)
1 Corinthians 1: 20What happened to those wise people?
What happened to those experts in the Scriptures? What happened to theones
who think they have all the answers? Didn't God show that the wisdomof
this world is foolish? 21God was wise and decided not tolet
the people of this world use their wisdom to learn about him.
Instead, God chose to save only those who believethe
foolish message we preach.... 25Even when God is foolish, heis
wiser than everyone else, and even when God is weak, he is strongerthan
everyone else. 27But God chose the foolish things ofthis
world to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this worldto
put the powerful to shame. 28What the world thinks is worthless, useless,
and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the worldconsiders
important. 29God did all this to keep anyone frombragging to
him.
(CEV)
1 Corinthians 2: 6We do use wisdom when speaking to people who are mature in their faith. But it isn't the wisdom of thisworld or of its rulers, who will soon disappear..... 8The rulersof this world didn't know anything about this wisdom. If they had knownabout it, they would not have nailed the glorious LORD to a cross. (CEV)
