Book 3 - Chap 9 - Trusting God and Christ is Really All That Matters!        grp128
Where Does Trusting Jesus' Greatness Lead Us?
Ice Breaker: Why did you trust the greatness of your parents and your family when you were young?

John 1: 9The true light that shines on everyone was coming into the world. 10The Word was in the world, but no one knew him, though God had made the world with his Word. 11He came into his own world, but his own nation did not welcome him.

Colossians 1: 15Christ is exactly like God, who cannot be seen. He is the first-born Son, superior to all creation. 16Everything was created by him, everything in heaven and on earth, everything seen and unseen, including all forces and powers, and all rulers and authorities. All things were created by God's Son. 17God's Son was before all else, and by him everything is held together. 18He is the head of his body, which is the church. He is the very beginning, the first to be raised from death, so that he would be above all others.(CEV)

Hebrews 1: 2...God created the universe by his Son, and everything will someday belong to the Son. 3God's Son has all the brightness of God's own glory and is like him in every way. By his own mighty word, he holds the universe together. After the Son had washed away our sins, he sat down at the right side of the glorious God in heaven. 4He had become much greater than the angels, and the name he was given is far greater than any of theirs. (CEV)

1 John 5: 4Every Child of God can defeat the world, and our faith is what gives us this victory. 5No one can defeat the world without having faith in Jesus as the Son of God. (CEV)

1 Peter 1: 5You have faith in God, whose power will protect you until the last day. Then he will save you, just as he has always planned to do... 7Your faith will be like gold that has been tested in a fire. And these trials will prove that your faith is worth much more than gold that can be destroyed. They will show that you will be given praise and honor and glory when Jesus Christ returns... 21And when he did come, it was to lead you to have faith in God, who raised him from death and honored him in a glorious way. That's why you have put your faith and hope in God. (CEV)

Hebrews 11: 1Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. 2It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God. 3Because of our faith, we know that the world was made at God's command. We also know that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen...      6But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that he rewards everyone who searches for him... (CEV)

Hebrews 12: 3So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won't get discouraged and give up... (CEV)
