Colossians 2: 8Don't let anyone fool you by using senseless arguments. These arguments may sound wise, but they are only human teachings. They come from the powers of this world and not from Christ. 9God lives fully in Christ. 10And you are fully grown because you belong to Christ, who is over every power and authority. 11Christ has also taken away your selfish desires, just as circumcision removes flesh from the body. 12And when you were baptized, it was the same as being buried with Christ. Then you were raised to life because you had faith in the power of God, who raised Christ from death. 13You were dead, because you were sinful and were not God's people. But God let Christ make you alive, when he forgave all our sins.
14God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. 15There Christ defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see them being led away as prisoners when he celebrated his victory. (CEV)
John 13: 34"But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you. 35If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples" (CEV)
John 15: 12.... love each other, as I have loved you..13The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them.14And you are my friends, if you obey me.... 16You did not choose me. I chose you and sent you out to produce fruit, the kind of fruit that will last....17So I command you to love each other. (CEV)
I John 3: 16We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. That's why we must believe give our lives for each other. 17If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God. 18Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it. (CEV)
Jude 1: 4Some godless people have sneaked in among us and are saying, "God treats us much better than we deserve, and so it is all right to be immoral." They even deny that we must obey Jesus Christ as our only Master and LORD. But long ago the Scriptures warned that these godless people were doomed. (CEV)
