Luke 11: 17Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said:... a family that fights will break up. (CEV)
Matthew 15: 19Out of your heart come evil thoughts, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, vulgar deeds, stealing, telling lies, and insulting others. (CEV)
1 Corinthians 3: 3.... You are jealous and argue with each other. This proves that you are not spiritual and that you are acting like the people of this world. (CEV)
Colossians 3; 8.... You must quit being angry, hateful, and evil. You must no longer say insulting or cruel things about others. (CEV)
Titus 3; 1Remind your people .... not to be rebellious. They must always be ready to do something helpful 2and not say cruel things or argue. They should be gentle and kind to everyone. (CEV)
James 1: 19My dear friends, you should be quick to listen and slow to speak or to get angry. (CEV)
James 1: 26If you think you are being religious, but can't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and everything you do is useless. (CEV)
James 3: 2All of us do many wrong things. But if you
can control your tongue, you are mature and able to control your whole
body.... 5Our tongues are small too, and yet they brag about
big things. It takes only a spark to start a forest fire! 6The
tongue is like a spark. It is an evil power that dirties the rest of the
body and sets a person's entire life on fire with flames that come from
hell itself. 8But our tongues get out of control. They are restless
and evil, and always spreading deadly poison. 9-10My dear friends,
with our tongues we speak both praises and curses. We praise our Lord and
Father, and we curse people who were created to be like God, and this isn't
right.
(CEV)
James 4: 4 Why do you fight and argue with each other? Isn't it because you are full of selfish desires that fight to control your body? (CEV)
1 Peter 3: 9Don't be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God's chosen ones, and he will bless you. (CEV)
