Luke 12: ⁵¹Do you think that I came to bring peace to earth? No indeed! I came to make people choose sides. (CEV)

John 14: ²⁷I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn't like the peace that this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid. (CEV)

John 16: ³³I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world. (CEV)

Romans 5: ⁵By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace with God....
    ¹⁰Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by his Son's life. (CEV)

Romans 14: ¹⁷God's kingdom isn't about eating and drinking. It is about pleasing God, about living in peace, and about true happiness. All this comes from the Holy Spirit....
    ¹⁹We should try to live at peace and help each other have a strong faith. (CEV)

2 Corinthians 5: ¹⁸God has done it all! Philippians 4: ⁷Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel. (CEV)

Colossians 3: ¹⁵Each one of you is part of the body of Christ, and you were chosen to live together in peace. So let the peace that comes from Christ control your thoughts. And be grateful. (CEV)

1. Why do people in the same family sometimes take sides and fight with each other?
2. When our thoughts are controlled by selfish desires rather than peace, what happens?
3. How does God actually bless people when they spend their lives striving to make peace?
4. What are the main obstacles that keep people who love this world from finding peace?
5. Describe how both the death and the life of Christ save us and give us eternal peace.
