Luke 11: ³⁵So be sure that your light isn't darkness. ³⁶If you have light, and nothing is dark, then light will be everywhere, as when a lamp shines brightly on you. (CEV)
1. How is it that light and darkness so beautifully illustrate what God wants to teach us?

2 Samuel 22: ²⁹Our LORD and God, you are my lamp. You turn darkness to light. (CEV)

Psalm 27: ¹You, LORD, are the light that keeps me safe. I am not afraid of anyone. You protect me, and I have no fears. (CEV)

Psalms 119: ¹⁰⁵Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk... ¹³⁰Understanding your word brings light to the minds of ordinary people. (CEV)
2. Why do we sometimes get away from the light and find ourselves walking in the darkness?

Isaiah 9: ²Those who walked in the dark have seen a bright light. And it shines upon everyone who lives in the land of darkest shadows. (CEV)
3. What does Jesus do to keep His truth and His light shining in this evil world?

Matthew 5: ¹⁶Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven. (CEV)
4. When we are highly educated in worldly things, how can keep sometimes our lights hidden?

John 8: ¹²Once again Jesus spoke to the people. This time he said, "I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won't be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life." (CEV)
5. Describe an example of how a good lifestyle actually does shine out and glorify God.

2 Corinthians 4: ⁶The Scriptures say, "God commanded light to shine in the dark." Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ. (CEV)

Genesis 1: ³God said, "I command light to shine!" And light started shining. (CEV)
6. Why do we need to respect what the Bible teaches and desire to know all about it?
