Matthew 6: ²⁵I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing? ²⁶Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth more than birds? ²⁷Can worry make you live longer? ²⁸Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don't work hard to make their clothes. ²⁹But I tell you that Solomon with all his wealth wasn't as well clothed as one of them.³⁰God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do even more for you! Why do you have such little faith?
    ³¹Don't worry and ask yourselves, "Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?" ³²Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these. ³³But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well. ³⁴Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today. (CEV)
1. How do these teachings of Jesus help us deal with feelings of unworthiness and weakness?

Matthew 13: ²²The seeds that fell among the thornbushes are also people who hear the message. But they start worrying about the needs of this life and are fooled by the desire to get rich. So the message gets choked out, and they never produce anything. (CEV)
2. What are the reasons we start worrying about things of this world and forget about Heaven?

Luke 12: ²⁸God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. Won't he do even more for you? .... ³⁰Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father knows what you need. ³¹But put God's work first, and these things will be yours as well. (CEV)

Luke 21: ¹⁷Because of me, you will be hated by everyone. ¹⁸But don't worry! ¹⁹You will be saved by being faithful to me.... ³⁴Don't spend all of your time thinking about eating or drinking or worrying about life. If you do, the final day will suddenly catch you. (CEV)
3. When we love and follow Jesus why should "everyone" start hating us?

Hebrews 13: ⁵....The Lord has promised that he will not leave us or desert us. ⁶That should make you feel like saying, "The Lord helps me! Why should I be afraid of what people can do to me?" (CEV)
4. Describe how it feels to know that no one can snatch from God's hands - we have eternal life

1 Peter 3: ¹⁴Even if you have to suffer for doing good things, God will bless you. So stop being afraid and don't worry about what people might do. (CEV)
5. If our relatives treat us badly for our loyalty to Jesus, why can we still love and respect them?
