Matthew 7: ¹²Treat others as you want them to treat you. This is what the Law and the Prophets are all about. (CEV)
1. How does the Golden Rule work out in family relationships and in business relationships?
 

Matthew 7: ²God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them. (CEV)

Mark 4: ²⁴Listen carefully to what you hear! The way you treat others will be the way you will be treated - and even worse.
2. Why does Jesus put so much stress on listening to all of His words carefully?
 

Luke 6: ³⁸If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated. (CEV)
3. What do we lose or gain when we are generous to those around us, especially the poor?

James 2: ² My friends, if you have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, you won't treat some people better than others.... ⁹But if you treat some people better than others, you have done wrong, and the Scriptures teach that you have sinned. (CEV)
4. Who is most likely to overlook the needs of others and even mistreat them?

John 13: ³⁴But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you. ³⁵If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples. (CEV)
1 John 3: ¹⁶We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. That's why we must give our lives for each other.... ¹⁸Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it. ¹⁹When we love others, we know that we belong to the truth, and we feel at ease in the presence of God.... ²³God wants us to have faith in his Son Jesus Christ and to love each other. (CEV)
5. When we put our faith into practice, how does that make us feel good in God's presence?

Romans 12: ¹⁰Love each other as brothers and sisters and honor others more than you do yourself. (CEV)
Ephesians 4: ²Always be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. (CEV)
6. Tell us about people you know who actually put others first consistently.
