A Why does God want us to have a wide variety of relationships in our
Christian community?
Relational Path - Acts 2: 42They spent their time
learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They
also broke bread and prayed together.... (CEV)
1. Who are some especially talented "people persons", though we all
need some of this path.
Intellectual Path - 2 Timothy 2: 15Do your best to
win God's approval as a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed and who teaches
only the true message. 2 Tim 3: 15.... you have known
the Holy Scriptures that are able to make you wise enough to have faith
in Christ Jesus and be saved.(CEV)
2. How can we be true to the message of Christ with both wisdom and
common sense?
Serving Path - Romans 12: 6God has also given each
of us different gifts to use.... 7If we can serve others, we
should serve. (CEV)
3. When we have the ability and the desire to serve others, how does
this help God reach others?
Contemplative Path - Luke 10: 38.... Martha welcomed
him.... 39She had a sister named Mary, who sat down in front
of the Lord and was listening to what he said..... 42.... only
one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be
taken away from her." (CEV)
4. Why is Mary's attitude of listening attentively to Jesus a good
example for us?
Activist Path - 1 Corinthians 9: 22.... I do everything
I can to win everyone I possibly can. 23I do all this for the
good news, because I want to share in its blessings. 24You know
that many runners enter a race, and only one of them wins the prize. So
run to win! 25Athletes work hard to win a crown that cannot
last, but we do it for a crown that will last forever. (CEV)
5. Describe how Paul's life motivates you to be active for Jesus.
Creation Path - Romans 1: 20God's eternal power and
character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown
what these are like by all he has made....
Revelation 22: 1.... The river came from the throne
where God and the Lamb were seated. 2.... On each side of the
river are trees that grow a different kind of fruit each month of the year.
(CEV)
6. What are some beautiful things in Creation that reveal God's wisdom,
power and love to you?
Celebrative Path - 2 Samuel 6: 14He [David] was dancing
for the LORD with all his might, but he wore only a linen cloth. 15He
and everyone else were celebrating by shouting and blowing horns while
the chest was being carried along. (CEV)
7. When have you felt so happy over God's blessings that you wanted
to sing and dance?
