1. Why do we sometimes feel a let down on Monday?

Mark 1: ³⁶Simon and those with him went looking for him. ³⁷They found him and said, "Everybody's looking for you." ³⁸Jesus said, "Let's go to the rest of the villages so I can preach there also. This is why I've come."  (MSG)
2. What insights do you see in these stories about Jesus and the Kingdom?

Matthew 19: ¹³Some people brought their children to Jesus, so that he could place his hands on them and pray for them. His disciples told the people to stop bothering him. ¹⁴But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and don't try to stop them! People who are like these children belong to God's kingdom." ¹⁵After Jesus had placed his hands on the children, he left. (CEV)
3. Why would people bring their children to Jesus? What does this say to us?

John 4: ³¹... Jesus' disciples were saying to him, "Teacher, please eat something." ³²But Jesus told them, "I have food that you don't know anything about."... ³⁴... My food is to do what God wants! He is the one who sent me, and I must finish the work that he gave me to do. (CEV)
4. In what way was "God's will" food for Jesus?

Matthew 13: ⁵¹Jesus asked his disciples if they understood all these things. They said, "Yes, we do." ⁵²So he told them, "Every student of the Scriptures who becomes a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like someone who brings out new and old treasures from the storeroom." (CEV)
5. Who are the teachers of the Old Law? Who have been instructed in the New Gospel?

Matthew 7: ¹⁷A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. ¹⁸A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. Luke 6: ⁴⁴You can tell what a tree is like by the fruit it produces. You cannot pick figs or grapes from thornbushes. ⁴⁵Good people do good things because of the good in their hearts. Bad people do bad things because of the evil in their hearts. Your words show what is in your heart. (CEV)
6. In your present life what is your need, to learn more or to practice what you already know?

Colossians 3: ¹You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at God's right side. ²Think about what is up there, not about what is here on earth. ³You died, which means that your life is hidden with Christ, who sits beside God. ⁴Christ gives meaning to your life, and when he appears, you will also appear with him in glory. (CEV)
