Learn: Proverbs 15: ¹⁴Anyone with good sense is eager to learn more, but fools are hungry for foolishness. Proverbs 19: ²⁷If you stop learning, you will forget what you already know. (CEV)
Acts 2: ⁴²They spent their time learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They also broke bread and prayed together.... (CEV)
1. What did the many converts (3000 plus) in the early church do to keep learning?

Check: 1 Corinthians 2: ⁴.... I didn't try to prove anything by sounding wise. I simply let God's Spirit show his power. ⁵That way you would have faith because of God's power and not because of human wisdom. ⁶We do use wisdom when speaking to people who are mature in their faith. But it isn't the wisdom of this world or of its rulers, who will soon disappear. ⁷We speak of God's hidden and mysterious wisdom...  (CEV)
2. How does human wisdom differ from God's wisdom?

Love: 1 Cor 13 ⁴Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or ⁵rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do. ⁶Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. ⁷Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. ⁸Love never fails! (CEV)
3. What ways have you loved God and God loved you when you read Paul's description of love?

Serve: Mark 9: ³⁵After Jesus sat down and told the twelve disciples to gather around him, he said, "If you want the place of honor, you must become a slave and serve others!" (CEV)
4. Why does Jesus use a child as an object lesson on true greatness in His kingdom and family?

Be Family: Hebrews 2: ¹⁰Everything belongs to God.... So God did the right thing when he made Jesus perfect by suffering, as Jesus led many of God's children to be saved and to share in his glory. ¹¹Jesus and the people he makes holy all belong to the same family. That is why he isn't ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. ¹²He even said to God, "I will tell them your name and sing your praises when they come together to worship." ¹³He also said, "I will trust God." Then he said, "Here I am with the children God has given me." (CEV)
5. How does our common human sufferings bring people to know Jesus?

Obey: John 14: ²³.... If anyone loves me, they will obey me. Then my Father will love them, and we will come to them and live in them. ²⁴But anyone who doesn't love me, won't obey me. (CEV)
6. What part does the Spirit have when Jesus and our Father come to live in us?

Tell: John 15: ²⁶I will send you the Spirit who comes from the Father and shows what is true. The Spirit will help you and will tell you about me. ²⁷Then you will also tell others about me.... (CEV)
Luke 24: ⁴⁷They also say that all people of every nation must be told in my name to turn to God, in order to be forgiven. So beginning in Jerusalem, ⁴⁸.... tell everything that has happened. (CEV)
7. How did the apostles hear what the Spirit said, and how do we today hear and obey?
