2
Corinthians 4: 6The Scriptures say, "God commanded light
to shine in the dark." Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know
that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ. (CEV)
Hebrews 12: 2We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who
leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured the shame of being nailed
to a cross, because he knew that later on he would be glad he did. Now
he is seated at the right side of God's throne! (CEV)
1. What do we learn from Paul about sharing our faith?
2 Peter 1: 16When we told you about the power and
the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, we were not telling clever stories
that someone had made up. But with our own eyes we saw his true greatness. (CEV)
2. Describe what you think Peter was referring to?
Acts 20: 34You know how I have worked with my own
hands to make a living for myself and my friends. 35By everything
I did, I showed how you should work to help everyone who is weak. Remember
that our Lord Jesus said, "More blessings come from giving than from receiving."
Hebrews 13: 16But don't forget to help others and
to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice
that pleases God. (CEV)
3. How do you
explain "more blessings from
giving than receiving"?
1
Corinthians 12: 26If one part of our body hurts, we hurt
all over. If one part of our body is honored, the whole body will be happy.
27....
Each one of you is part of his body. (CEV)
Ephesians 4: 29....
Say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say. (CEV)
1 Peter 4: 11....
If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God
supplies. Everything should be done in a way that will bring honor to God
because of Jesus Christ, who is glorious and powerful forever. (CEV)
4. Take turns
affirming each other for the spiritual gifts you have seen in them.
Matthew 20:26But
don't act like them. If you want to be great, you must be the servant of
all the others. 27And if you want to be first, you must be the
slave of the rest. 28The Son of Man did not come to be a slave
master, but a slave who will give his life to rescue many people. (CEV)
5. How did Jesus'
death on the cross rescue many people?
Ephesians 2:10God
planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us
to live. That's why he sent Christ to make us what we are. (CEV)
Titus 3: 8This
message is certainly true. These teachings are useful and helpful for everyone.
I want you to insist that the people follow them, so that all who have
faith in God will be sure to do good deeds. (CEV)
6. What does God want us to do with the message?
